The Vlerick MBA

The full-time MBA runs for one academic year in the international campus in Leuven. It is designed to take young executives through a rapid, rigorous academic development in all aspects of general management.Starting in August the programme consists of 11 months of intensive coursework including a two month in-company consultancy project.

An initial programme introducing the basics of statistics, report writing, economics, presentation skills and leadership are supplemented by initial investigations into entrepreneurship and group dynamics. These themes are continuously developed during the programme.

The core of the MBA courses are delivered during the period September through March interspersed with exchanges to Italy, Spain, UK, USA, India and Ireland. At the end of the formal course delivery an integration game developed by faculty of the School is run to bring together the various streams within the MBA and to give participants practise at managing decision making and problem solving in a controlled environment.

During the project the participants have an opportunity to use the material learned during the courses in a real business situation. The project and the defence of the findings and recommendations is the final stage of the MBA.

Our full-time MBA is truly international in terms of participants, subject matter and faculty. The full-time programme has on average 85 % non-Belgian students and currently represents some 30 countries in the 55 person group. The vast majority of these participants have lived or worked in at least one other country than their country of origin.  The average age of the group is 31 and thus the average work experience is some 6,5 years. A lot of time is devoted to sharing the wealth of international multicultural experience in each of the disciplines covered in the MBA programme.

Programmes: Full-Time MBA (1 year), Part-Time MBA (2 years)

Starting date: Late August, September

Key requirements: first degree, 3 years business experience, GMAT & TOEFL and completed application form with essays.
