Lancaster University Management School has a unique blend of qualities that underpin its rapid rise in reputation. It is the only full-range university business school to feature in all the major global rankings of the Financial Times (MBA, customised Executive Education, and Masters in Management), and for nearly two decades has topped the UK's research rankings with London Business School.
This breadth and depth of quality is both a result of and a driver for attracting exceptional people to join the faculty, and high achieving students from across the world to its undergraduate and diverse range of postgraduate programmes, from specialist to general such as the MBA and Masters in Management.
Accredited by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA, LUMS is known for its innovative inter-disciplinary programmes, and for an emphasis on team working and on learning from real-world practice through projects, placements and internships. Above all, you won't find a stronger community of staff, students and external partners, drawing on the distinctive strengths of a greenfield campus location, college system, and a passion for working closely with our external partners.
The Lancaster Full-time MBA
There is a special quality about the Lancaster MBA, and studying at Lancaster, that is remembered by our alumni for many years. Three features that they say stand out are: studying at one of the UK’s highest-ranked and internationally-acclaimed management schools; a programme which combines intense intellectual rigour and action-learning, derived from the three company projects during the year; and the individual attention found in our exceptionally supportive learning environment.
MBA facilities include a dedicated lecture theatre, social space, base room, and a board room with AV facilities for recording meetings and negotiations to develop the skills and competences required at senior levels in business. Through syndicate teams that encourage light-hearted competition students are quickly assimilated into working in groups of mixed nationality and sector experience, which is a strong feature of the programme.
Typically the MBA will include around 70 students of over 20 nationalities. The MBA programme ranks:
